5 special acts of the month of Zilhajj
1. In the first 9 days, Nafal fast and worship at night

1. First 10 days of nafal fasting and worship at night:
Nafal fasting if possible from the moonrise of the month of Zilhaj until the tenth day (not fasting on the day of sacrifice).
And doing more worship at night, namely: Nafal prayer, Quran recitation, Tasbeeh-Tahlil, repentance-Istighfar and fasting etc. spending the night in worship.
Benefits:
Hazrat Abu Huraira RA. Narrated by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said, The worship of ten days of Zil-Hajj is dearer to Allah than the worship of other days.
Every day’s fast is like a year’s fast and every night’s worship is like Lailatul Qadr’s worship.

Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA. described from
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
The deeds of other days are not dearer than the deeds of these ten days.

2. No cutting of hair and nails:
It is mustahabb for those who perform Qurbani not to cut their hair and nails from the rising of the moon of Zilhaj until performing Qurbani.
Hadith:
Hazrat Umm Salama RA. Narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Those of you who sacrifice, let them
[These 10 days] do not cut hair and nails.

3. Fasting on the Day of Arafah:
The first nine days, especially the days of Arafa, i.e. the nine Zil Hajjs, are Nafal fasts.
Benefits:
Hazrat Abu Qatada RA. On the authority of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, he said:
Regarding fasting on the day of Arafah, I am hopeful that Allah will forgive his [faster’s] sins of the past year and the year to come.

4. Saying Tashreek in Takbeer-
It is wajib to say Takbeer once after every obligatory prayer from Fajr on the 9th of Zil-Hajj to Asr on the 13th.
Loudly for men, and silently for women.
Takbeer is-
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La-Ilaha Illahu, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Wa Lillahil Hamd”.

5. Sacrifice for a wealthy person:
On any day of 10th, 11th or 12th Zil Hajj,
If a person owns seven and a half talas of gold, or fifty-two and a half talas of silver or its equivalent, in excess of daily requirements,
Then it is obligatory to sacrifice him.
This rule applies to both men and women.

Benefits:
Zayd bin Arkam RA. Said, the Companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Gana said,
O Messenger of God! What is the merit of all these sacrifices?
In reply he (peace be upon him) said:
Abraham, the father of your nation. Its Sunnah.
They (RA) said again and again, O Messenger of Allah! What is the reward for us?
In reply he (peace be upon him) said:
There is a reward for every hair of the sacrificial animal. They (RA)
He asked again, O Messenger of God!
What is the order of sheep’s wool?
(it cannot be calculated),
He (peace be upon him) said:
There is a reward for every hair of sheep’s wool.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
A person who does not perform Qurbani despite being able, should not even come near our Eidgah.
{Sunan Ibn Majah-226}

There are five days in a year on which fasting is prohibited.
The days are-
1. Day of Eid-ul-Fitr (1 Shawwal).
2. Day of Eid-ul-Azhar (10th Zilhaj).
3. Three days after Eid-ul-Azha.
That is, the 11th, 12th and 13th of the month of Zilhaj.
